The Hyde family of Hollingworth Head.


Generation One.

John Hyde of Hollingworth Head between Hayfield and Chunal, and his wife Abigail, had two sons:
     John Hyde baptised on 6 January 1718 in Hayfield.
     Joseph Hyde baptised on 7 April 1722 in Hayfield.
John was buried on 22 April 1748 and Abigail on 27 December 1749, both in Hayfield.

Generation Two.

Joseph Hyde was baptised on 7 April 1722 in Hayfield. He lived at Hollingworth Head near Hayfield. Joseph and his wife Mary had eight children:
     Joseph Hyde baptised 8 May 1749 in Hayfield, buried 26 April 1832 in Hayfield.
     Mary Hyde baptised 20 August 1751.
     Betty Hyde baptised 24 February 1754 in Hayfield. Died in infancy.
     Betty Hyde baptised 19 July 1756.
     Sarah Hyde baptised 29 December 1759.
     Ann (Nanny) Hyde.
     Hannah Hyde baptised 3 March 1762 in Hayfield.
     Dolly Hyde baptised 5 May 1765.
Joseph Hyde died in 1795.

Generation Three.

Mary Hyde was baptised on 20 August 1751 in Hayfield. She married Thomas Hall on 18 May 1771 in Glossop and they had six children:
     Thomas Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 6 November 1774 in Hayfield. His wife was named Betty. He died in Tanpits, Whitle and was buried on 20 November 1843 in Hayfield.
     Joseph Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 25 December 1777 in Mellor. He married Hannah Lowe on 6 July 1802 in Glossop. Joseph died on 8 August 1843 in Moor Lodge, Ollerset and was buried on 12 Aug 1843 in Hayfield.
     John Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 28 May 1780 in Hayfield. He married Martha Hyde on 18 Mar 1811 in Glossop. John died on 22 December 1844 in Lower Cliffe and was buried on 24 December 1844 in Hayfield.
     Micah Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 20 April 1782 in Hayfield. He married Ellen Handford on 4 March 1813 in Glossop. Micah died in Hill House, Kinder and was buried on 9 February 1857 in Hayfield.
     William Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 5 February 1786.
     Samuel Hall born in Stones House, Kinder and baptised on 3 September 1789. He married Betty Hadfield on 3 June 1817 in Glossop. Samuel died in Highgate, Phoside and was buried on 16 May 1860.
Thomas Hall died in 1794, before his father in law (Mary was described as a widow in her father's will).
Mary died in Highgate and was buried on 22 August 1822 in Hayfield.

Betty Hyde was baptised on 19 July 1756 in Hayfield. She married Isaac Gee on 11 Jul 1780 in Glossop (see The Gee family of Ludworth).

Sarah Hyde was baptised on 29 December 1759 in Hayfield. She married Joel Harrop on 4 May 1784 in Glossop and they had two daughters:
     Mary Harrop who married Robert Whitaker.
     Betty Harrop who married Robert Rowbothum.
Sarah died after 1795 and before 1832 (from wills of her father and brother Joseph).

Ann (Nanny) Hyde married Henry Hague on 25 April 1782 in Glossop and they had five children:
     Susan Hague who married John Jackson.
     Mary Hague.
     Betty Hague who married Charles Barnes.
     Henry Hague.
     John Hague.
Ann died after 1795 and before 1832 (from wills of her father and brother Joseph).

Hannah Hyde was baptised 3 Mar 1762 in Hayfield. She married William Brocklehurst on 14 March 1782 in Glossop. They had a daughter, Martha Brocklehurst.
Hannah died after 1795 and before 1832 (from wills of her father and brother Joseph).

Dolly Hyde was baptised on 5 May 1765 in Hayfield. She married Thomas Stansfield on 21 November 1785 in Glossop. They had a son, Thomas Stansfield.
Dolly died on 1 May and was buried on 4 May 1832 in Hayfield.
