A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR . . .
The Carnival Committee, under the Chairmanship of Mr. H. Farrimond, has been specially appointed and has the full support of the Local Council. It caters for everyone and much time and thought has been spent in its planning.
Its historical pageants will show how the industry of the town has developed throughout the century.
It is worthy of success and I appeal for your support.
ADA WILLIAMS

LETTER FROM OUR CHAIRMAN
Dear Friends,
Thank you for buying this Programme and so helping our Carnival.
You will no doubt know that the Carnival is part of our Centenary Year Celebrations and we of the Carnival Committee, feel a very important one. We trust you will enjoy the parade and all the many field events which we hope all age groups will be able to enjoy.
Now we are asking for the help of your good selves to give generously to the many charities which we hope to be able to support through your kind donations.
Please remember that the effort put into organIsing this Carnival by many voluntary unpaid workers has stretched over many months and the opportunity of gaining a rewarding profit for our charities is restricted to one day.
Have a wonderful time at our Centenary Carnival.
Thank you,
H. FARRIMOND

That is the signal to dive for cover and commence firing, all shots to be fired slowly with careful aim, as though it’s real ammunition, and to look mean, and also express their faces as though they mean it, they are also to move about from place to place. All men to go down as if dead or wounded, at the end of three shots, and make it look real. Only Billy Clanton to stay alive, Morgan Earp, Virgil Earp, Doc Holliday, all to get wounded, as rehearsed, leaving Wyat Earp. Earp then to call out ‘Clanton, throw your gun out it’s finished’. Clanton to shout back ‘if you want me come and get me’. (Earp) ‘don’t be a fool Clanton, give up’. (Clanton) ‘they say your fast Earp, I’ll meet you in the open, let’s see how fast you are’. (Earp) ‘if that’s the way you want it show yourself’. Both men then start the slow walk, at given signal to go for guns, then Clanton to go down, Earp to stand where he is for a few seconds, then holster his gun, turn round, and walk towards his men. Billy Clanton to ease up slowly, pull his gun out to shoot Earp in the back. Doc Holliday to shoot at Clanton and kill him. Earp to turn around, look at Clanton, then back and look at Doc Holliday.
