1901 Census: James Wilson was 9 years old, and living at Potts Houses, Tintwistle
At the time of the 1911 census the family was at 35 Church Street, Tintwistle. James was 20, weaver cotton cloth.
Living with the family in 1911 was John Battye (Hannah's brother). He was described as a 55 year old widowed lodger and general domestic servant (feeble minded).
John Battye was the father of Albert Battye who is also commemorated on the Tintwistle War Memorial.

James Wilson was born in 1891 in Tintwistle, the son of George Thomas Wilson and Hannah, formerly Battye, who were married at Christ Church, Tintwistle on 27 January 1880.
