1911 Census:
Thomas Groucott was a 21 year old police constable, lodging at the home of Alice Leech, of 53, Chapel Street, Dukinfield, Cheshire.

Thomas Groucott was born in 1889 in Bunbury, Cheshire, the son of William Groucott and Sarah, formerly Ennion, who were married in 1879 at St Boniface, Bunbury.
He married Beatrice Salthouse in 1915 at Christ Church, Tintwistle. It is almost certain that Thomas and Beatrice had a son, Albert Ennion Groucott, born in 1916.
Beatrice remarried in 1921 (registration district Glossop) to Fred Rhodes, and almost certainly had a further son, James D Rhodes, born in 1923 (registration district Glossop).

Commemorated on the memorial at: Tintwistle.
