1901 Census: Thomas Garnett was 14 years old, and living in Tintwistle, where he worked as a cotton weaver.
By the time of the 1911 census, Thomas is married, a 24 year old cotton spinner living at Manchester Road, Tintwistle with his wife Harriet Ann Garnett, aged 30, married 5 months, no children, born Tintwistle

Thomas Garnett was almost certainly born Thomas Garnett Lowis in 1886 (registration district West Ward), the son of Thomas Garnett and Elizabeth Lowis who were married in 1888 (registration district West Ward).
He married Harriet Ann Higginbottom in 1910 at Christ Church, Tintwistle. They lived at Rose Cottage, 47 Manchester Road, Tintwistle and had 1 child, a daughter Lilian, born in 1914.
