1911 Census:
Albert Downing was a 33 year old County Council roadman, residing in Manchester Road, Tintwistle. He was the son of William Downing, a stone quarryman, and Sarah Ann Downing.

Albert Downing was born on 27 January 1878 and baptised at Christ Church, Tintwistle on 5 May 1878; the son of William Downing and Sarah Ann, formerly Weston, who were married in 1866 at St Paul's Church, Stayley (now Stalybridge).
