1911 Census:
Edward Bennett was a 32 year old cotton cloth finisher, residing at 42, Old Road, Tintwistle. He was the husband of Matilda Bennett, aged 34, and the father of Edward (7), Elizabeth (6), Alfred (4) and Nancy (1).

Edward Bennett was born in 1878 in Tintwistle, the son of Edward Bennett and Mary, formerly Naylor, who were married in 1866 at St Paul's Church, Stayley (now Stalybridge).
Edward married Matilda Ashton on 14 March 1903 in Glossop. They had 5 children, all born in Tintwistle: Edward Bennett born 1903, Elizabeth Ashton Bennett born 1905, Alfred Bennett born 1907, Nancy Bennett born 1910 and William Bennett born 1913
