Son of Alfred, a cotton mill hand, and Jane Leah, of 85, Old Road, Tintwistle, Derbyshire

George Alfred Leah was born in Tintwistle in 1889, the son of Alfred Leah and Jane, formerly Ashton, who were married in 1884 at St Michael's Church, Ashton-u-Lyne.
He was the brother of Harry Leah, also commemorated on the Tintwistle War Memorial.

Commemorated on the memorial at: Hadfield, Tintwistle and Hadfield St Charles Borromeo Church.
