Within the Glossop area there are a number of memorials to those who fell in the world wars. This section of the web site contains pages for each the main ones.
Each page then links to individual pages for most of the people listed, the pages for each individual having links back to the memorials on which they are listed.
Coverage is not 100% but any omissions (and inaccuracies) will be corrected when further information is obtained.
I must acknowledge the help of Richard Clarke, who ran the former Derby and Derbyshire War Memorials Project, for providing a copy of his information for the Glossop area and of Mike Brown for his usual encyclopaedic knowledge of Glossop history. Without their help the construction of these pages would have been much more difficult. I must also acknowledge Mike Brown and Lynda Meehan for permission to use their photographs.
The Calico Printers Association published a list of all employees who served, including those from Dinting Vale Printworks.
There are memorial plaques at Sandhole (located at the northern end of Philip Howard Road, opposite the exit from the market ground) and on the wall of Glossop Market Hall.
