3 August; A bit cool and damp for butterflies this morning but a pleasant walk nevertheless and always some flowers to snap.

6 August; A lovely morning for a walk before the forecast thunderstorms. Plenty of butterflies around and I even managed to get a couple of snaps of a dragonfly - or is it a damselfly?

14 August; A bit of a dull morning but there is always something nice to take snaps of in the Beck Valley, even after the "traveller" invasion. It was nice to see the boulders already in place to deter further "travellers" by the time I got there about 9:15. The vehicle damage to the fields wasn't as bad as it might have been, we have stayed in our motorhome on several (legal) temporary sites where grass has suffered worse damage and recovered reasonably quickly. I bumped into an officer from Environmental Health in the car park on the way back. He had just walked the whole of the area where the "visitors" were and was of the same opinion. He was also full of praise for those who took part in the litter pick the previous evening. As he said, that work means that the council can concentrate its efforts on bigger matters.

23 August; A warm morning attracting some butterflies out. More and more seed heads appearing and some lovely fungi. The drainage ditch is almost dry but no signs of tadpoles so hopefully most matured and are hiding in the grass. Goodness knows where the solitary crocosmia has appeared from.
