14 August; A bit of a dull morning but there is always something nice to take snaps of in the Beck Valley, even after the "traveller" invasion. It was nice to see the boulders already in place to deter further "travellers" by the time I got there about 9:15. The vehicle damage to the fields wasn't as bad as it might have been, we have stayed in our motorhome on several (legal) temporary sites where grass has suffered worse damage and recovered reasonably quickly. I bumped into an officer from Environmental Health in the car park on the way back. He had just walked the whole of the area where the "visitors" were and was of the same opinion. He was also full of praise for those who took part in the litter pick the previous evening. As he said, that work means that the council can concentrate its efforts on bigger matters. |
